Hanna is an original Netflix series that questions what it means to have basic connections. Esmeralda Creed-Miles more than lives up to her roll as prodigious teenager raised by her father to be a trained fighter and well educated student, able to speak multiple languages and fire off facts as if basic knowledge. All skills that come to use when she sees the first person, other than her father, she has seen. Raised in the middle of the woods in Poland she lives an isolated life until forced into the city by the same people who killed her mother. During the journey to escape from the military officials hunting her and father she attempts to explore what a “normal” life would be like. A few light moments of antics with a new friend balance the action packed intensity of the mini series.
As she begins to venture into the world on her own she discovers secrets about her past and gathers answers as to why she is being targeted. These answers only lead her to more questions about her own identity and what makes her so unique from the rest of the population. She risks her life to try to find answers about her past and stop those who wish her demise so she can stop hiding and just live as any other person. As her mission progresses she sees more and more she is not just any other person, she is a strong adolescent who has seen more than most people do in a life time. She struggles to understand her place in the world with her abilities, friendship and romance. This cinematic mini series will keep you watching from the first episode to the eight in one sitting.
